Dear readers, As a family business, we see it as our responsibility to think of future generations and to act accordingly. Only if we harmonise economic, ecological and social aspects, these generations will also have a secure future. Probably the best-known milestone on our Krombacher way to more sustainability – to the good of people & nature – is the Krombacher Rainforest Project, which started exactly 20 years ago. Since then, this nature conservation project and our nature positioning have given rise to a holistic sustainability strategy. Despite a difficult environment, a lot has been done – along our entire value chain, from the field to the glass, we optimise consumption and processes. In many aspects we are already doing quite well, in others we can still improve ourselves - but we are also working on this. In this factsheet we provide an insight into our sustainability activities in 2021 as well as our objectives for the coming years. Two topics are of particular concern to us: climate protection and biodiversity. We are also facing up to the challenges of the new EU regulations and working on their implementation.
